Exploring thermal state in mixed immersive virtual environments

Combining immersive virtual environment (IVE) with a controlled is potential solution for analyzing human thermal experience during building design. Existing studies in this field have not adequately analyzed scenarios involving stabilized comfortable and uncomfortable temperature conditions using both state votes physiological responses, or the influence of seasons. By combining IVE climate chamber, called mixed (MIVE) study, experiments were conducted to test hypothesis that participants' did significantly alter their compared in-situ experience. Response variables control distribution, vote (at steps 18.3 °C, 23.8 29.4 °C), responses (heart rate skin temperature). The results show first two response different between MIVE settings (except one case). Due heat development head mounted display device, mean forehead was higher than most cases. However, such difference seem affect general votes. In addition, significant differences at some locations also observed settings.
